WHO NEEDS TO HEAR?
I believe that most of us would really like for all of our loved ones to know Jesus the way we know Jesus. All of us have friends or family members that either don’t have a faith in Christ and/or aren’t connected to a local church family for their growth and support. And even though we may feel unprepared, awkward, or intimidated by the thought of talking to them about Jesus, we’d still like for them to hear it from someone, because we really do care about them and their eternity.
Paul sums it up like this in Romans 10:14-15, But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!
In other words, the key to believing in Jesus is to hear it from someone. That “someone” is us! Whether you talk to someone in person or you arrange for them to hear it from someone else, this is our responsibility.
That’s the power of the “Church” working together to help each other tell others about Jesus. That’s exactly what we do each Sunday, but especially on special occasions like Easter and Christmas Eve. This year Christmas Eve is on a Sunday, which makes it necessary to get a bit creative with our service times. We’ve chosen to focus on the afternoon & evening services that will have a feel of a Sunday morning service as well as a Christmas Eve service – including candle-lighting. We encourage you to make one of these services a part of your family Christmas experience. While you’re at it, it will be a great time to invite those people in your life that you’ve been wanting to talk to about Jesus. They will hear and experience the Good News of Jesus Christ!
WHO WILL YOU BRING WITH YOU?
