PRAYERS FOR THE START OF A SCHOOL YEAR

A PRAYER FOR STUDENTS...

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of our children. We thank you for the opportunity for them to learn and to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We pray that, as our children go back to school in the days ahead, you hold them in your hands and guard their hearts, their minds, and their bodies. Bless them with friends that will encourage them and will bless them. Fill each student with fresh enthusiasm and a heart that is excited to learn and to grow. Cover them with your unending love. Give them grace and confidence as they walk their hallways with faith and courage. Help them to persevere through difficulties and trials. Give our children the boldness to be the Salt and Light of Jesus Christ wherever they go this school year. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

A PRAYER FOR TEACHERS...

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the blessing of our teachers and our educators. We thank you for the opportunity each one has to be a blessing to our children. We pray that you would equip them with wisdom and truth, and empower them to teach and lead with vision and love. Father, we ask that you hold each one in your hands and protect them as they boldly shine the light of Jesus Christ with grace and truth in their classroom and on the campus this school year. Bless them with patience and strength as they help each student learn and explore their God given potential in life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
