HOW CAN I SERVE YOU?
We often hear those words when we enter a situation where someone is about to do something for us or help us in some way. We assume that they have good and genuine intentions as they take care of us in some way.
That is the exact attitude Jesus had when He came and lived among us. In Mark 10:45 Jesus says, For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
If there was ever a person who deserved to be served, it was Jesus – the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! Yet in humility, and as an example to all of us, his #1 attitude in life was to serve us in every way possible – even as it drove him to his death. That is exactly the kind of love and attitude God expects from each of us who believe in him and commit to following Jesus. We are to love and serve each other!
In our current series, “I Love My Church,” of all the things we will talk about and are being challenged with, these words should be at front and center of everything we say and do together as a church, “HOW CAN I SERVE YOU?”
If you exemplify that statement with your attitude and your actions, you can plan on God’s blessing and favor on your life and on our church. AMEN!
