OUR 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Can you believe that Abundant Life Church has been in existence for 25 years? (on June 1 to be exact). This coming Sunday morning, May 19, we will be celebrating this very special milestone. We will take a look at the past 25 years and simply thank God for his Amazing Grace and strength he’s given us this whole time. From Hawaiian shirts to motorcycles we’ve experienced some interesting things. Make plans to join us at the 8:30 or 10:15 service.
GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
Once again, on August 8 & 9, we will host the Global Leadership Summit. The GLS is one of the world’s most significant leadership events every year. Hundreds of thousands of Christian Leaders all over the world are annually equipped to increase their leadership and influence capacity. The amazing part of the GLS is that a person doesn’t need to be in a position of leadership to benefit from the Summit. Attending the GLS is for everyone, because all of us have the power and ability to influence the people around us. It will be a great opportunity to grow as a person and in your leadership as well as being inspired by the Holy Spirit for the next thing God has for you.

MY SABBATICAL
Starting May 20 I will be taking a 3-month Sabbatical. Over the past 10 years each of us pastors have been rotating our Sabbaticals over the summer months by stepping back from our pastoral responsibilities. During my Sabbatical, I will be doing some personal writing and studying. Laurie and I will be doing some traveling to visit some friends and family. One of the highlights we are planning is for our grandson, Jackson, and myself to hike/ backpack part of the Appalachian Trail - through the Shenandoah National Park. This will be my fourth “Sectional” hike on the Trail. At this rate, by the time I turn 125, I should have most of the Trail hiked.
While I’m gone, our Staff will take care of the everyday tasks (like they normally do), and the other pastors will handle the preaching schedule.
Pray for me that this will be a great time of rest, refreshing, and a renewed sense of vision for my life and for ALC.
