WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?

The Bible (1 Corinthians 12) clearly tells us that if you are a Follower of Jesus you have been given at least 1 (usually several) special abilities to do things that you couldn’t possibly do on your own. We call these Spiritual Gifts. God gives them to you so that you use them to serve and help your fellow Followers. When you combine your Spiritual Gifts with your personality, your experiences in life, talents, and your passions, it begins to give you a picture of how God created you and wants to use you to help build His Church and to influence the world around you. All of these are from God. 

The big question is this – are you using all (or some) of these to the best of your ability to serve in the church and reach out to the community? Or, are you going about your business and your life with little thought for how you can be of help to the people around you? What are you hiding that needs to be brought into the light? In other words, what are those Gifts, talents, experiences, and interests that you have been sitting on that you need to begin to share and use with others? 

There are literally people all around you needing their lives touched and changed with what God has given you. Now is a great time to come out of hiding and step up to be a blessing to the Church and to the people of our community.  You may feel like you have nothing to offer, but I guarantee you that, once you take that first step and volunteer to help someone, you will be amazed at what you can do. So, go ahead, take that step and begin to experience the fact that God put you here “For such a time as this.”
