HOW CAN WE BE BETTER TOGETHER

In today’s world there are so many ways for each one of us to be connected to other people. We don’t even need to leave the comfort of our own home and still connect with people all around the world. Whether we use social media, Facetime with our phones, a Zoom video call through the internet, or just pick up the phone and talk to someone the old-fashioned way, we can connect with, and even stay connected to, whomever we desire. When it comes to events, conferences, seminars, or even a church service, webinars and live-streams have become popular tools to teach and equip large groups of people together. And we thank God for all of these methods of connection.

However, electronic connection with people, as good as it may be, will never replace the power and value of physically being with another person. It’s when you are in the same proximity of someone that true communication and interaction happens. You can see and feel the emotions of each other. It’s just better when we can be together. That’s why we’re BETTER TOGETHER.

We are better together when we Serve Together, Worship Together, Grow Together, Pray with and for each other Together, and when we Love each other Together. But the common denominator to all of these is that it happens when we are together. If there’s ever been a time since the early Church for the Church to own and practice Being Together, it’s now. The more challenging the world around us becomes, and the more our own lives become challenged, the more we need each other.

One of the reasons so many people give up on church is because they’ve never experienced the good and life-changing parts of being involved in a church family. The less we are committed to a church family, the fewer benefits we will experience and the more we become disillusioned with the whole idea of “Church".

It seems to be that the greater the investment into a commitment and ministry of the church, the greater the joy and blessing received from it.

This coming Sunday we will wrap up our series, BETTER TOGETHER, by exploring some of the great blessings and benefits of a whole-hearted commitment to Jesus and to His Body – the Church.
