A SPIRITUAL REMINDER AT MCDONALD’S DRIVE-THRU
I used to have a Jeep Wrangler. It had 40-inch tires and 5 inch lift on it. It was a fun vehicle to have. One time, in the McDonalds drive-through, the kid in the window saw me in it and said, “Nice Jeep.” I told him, “Thanks, it’s a lot of fun.” Then he asked, “Do you ever take it mudding or rock climbing?” I told him no, I don’t really get a chance to do things like that with it. Disappointed, he looked back at me and said “You really should, my buddy has one that he takes all the time.” “That would be fun,” I said, “but I just don't have the time.” He just stared at me. He didn’t need to say a word. He looked at my Jeep, then back at me as he handed me my “nutritious meal.” His face said, “What a waste of a Jeep.” I could tell what he was thinking - “That Jeep is made for so much more than just a way to get to work.” In shame, I ate my double cheeseburger and fries as I drove home.
Just like my Jeep, you too are made for more. God has got so much more for you! This past Sunday, we took a look at one of my favorite verses. Jeremiah 1:4 says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Each of us is formed by a Creator who put us together with a plan and purpose in mind. We were formed by His hands and given a mission. I am reminded that God wants to use me and that the best life I could ever lead is when I surrender to His plan for my life.
My prayer for each of us this week is that God would continue to remind us that we are made for more, and that He is so excited about using us to impact those around us. My hope is that each of us would have our eyes opened to the opportunities God has for us to better love Him and love others as we walk out the purpose that He has for us!
Have a blessed week!
