IS LIFE DIFFICULT? WHY?

WHEN DEALING WITH LIFE IS DIFFICULT

Whether it’s an occasional bump in the road, or it’s an ongoing struggle, we’ve all had times in our lives when we get stuck and can’t seem to move forward. Our struggles may be with an inability to make good decisions, it may be an inability to have healthy relationships, or it could be living in such mental or emotional pain and confusion that it leaves us paralyzed to do anything. These kinds of situations can often be the root that leads to deeper issues of really bad decisions and depression.

If you find yourself identifying with any of these situations, you most likely felt as if you were in what we call “Bondage” to those feelings. You feel as if your world is closing in on you and there’s no way out. But there is a way out – there is Freedom from your bondage. 

With some investigation and discernment, you will most likely discover that at the heart of your bondage is a “LIE.” Somewhere along the line, you have fallen prey to believing something that is either an outright lie or is a distortion of the truth. It could be a lie about your situation, about what someone said or did, about yourself, or even about God himself. If we were able to dig deep enough, we would discover that most all of us likely believe something that is completely incorrect. This is extremely important, because the feelings we have, the decisions we make, and the way we live our lives are based on the information we believe at the moment. If the information is faulty, then everything else will be distorted and wrong.  

That is where Truth comes in. Jesus tells us that Truth will set us free. Truth can be Jesus, who is the Truth, it could be the Truth of God’s Word, or it could be as simple as knowing what is true – factual. Believing and embracing Truth begins to unlock the door to our freedom. In other words, our Freedom from whatever is holding us in bondage is as close as an encounter with the Truth.
